I don't know why peole told me it would hurt, it was just uncomfortable for me when he did it. At least you tried it out though, you might have regretted it if you didn't. The mistake most people make is not putting a GOOD piece of jewelry in there right off the bat. It must be 18k gold or higher, or platinum. Anything less than that will make it take forever to heal. And those studs the piercers put in are always junk, 14k or less and they are always ugly and make you look like you have a bug on your nose, or worse, a wart!
